Autodesk Revit 2011 Overview
At the beginning of introducing Autodesk Revit to the students, they can explore this podcast about Revit. It will allow the students to learn about the new features and other aspects in a nontraditional way. Before, the students had to listen to me explain what these differences were, and now, this will allow them to use a different type of medium by learning the same information. Also, by having the students research and incorporate this podcast into their learning, I feel it allows to students to use a form of technology they are familiar with, and hopefully, stay engaged with. The students are then able to use the computer to take notes, or even use a Google Documents page to collaboratively create a class set of notes.
This podcast goes over what the new features are that has been included into Autodesk Revit 2011, and also hits some of the key components in Revit.
Key features in Revit 2011:
User interface enhancements
New models properties pallet-instantly see the properties for any item that has been selected.
It saves a lot of steps and you could not filter what you wanted and could only see one property
Repeat command that was previously used, by hitting the space bar or enter key
Consistent modify tools is now found in once consistent spot on the panel
These are the type of notes the students can take by listen to this and other podcasts regarding to Revit 2011. I feel by incorporating this type of note taking into the classroom will enhance how students take and retain the information.
